What started out as a joke turned into a business. Several years ago my father and I made a bet. The bet was to quit smoking. The loser of the bet was going to have to eat real cow crap. I lost the bet, and knowing my father as I do, I knew I was in trouble. I told my husband that I have to make something edible that looks like cow crap, or I’ll be eating the real stuff. My husband and I own and operate a ranch in Caballo, NM, so I had a pretty good idea of what real cow crap looked like. I got busy in the kitchen using my best culinary skills and created my first COW PATTY. The moment finally arrived to pay the bet. When I took a bite out of my COW PATTY my father almost passed out. Several COW PATTYS later I knew I had reached the pinnacle when my husband walked into the kitchen and said, “That’s it! When you start bringing real cow crap into this kitchen I draw the line!” I told my husband, “That’s chocolate.” He replied, “Oh sure, you’d lie and say that’s chocolate.” Haven't you taken enough crap this year?
